An original mixed-media work combining layers of collected restaurant menus and ephemera with acrylic paint, translucent glazes and expressive brushwork. Elements are deliberately buried and revealed throughout the painting, allowing fragments of menus, typography and memories of lunches past to emerge through the surface.
Built slowly through multiple layers, the original has a depth and texture that can only really be experienced in the physical work — torn edges, brush marks and traces of the collage beneath the paint all remain part of the finished piece.
